Characteristics of Autism
A child or adult with autism may have a few or
many symptoms. The number, intensity, and severity of the symptoms can
range from mild to severe. Regardless, most individuals with autism
respond well to a highly structured, specialized program. Treatment should
be tailored to each child's or adult's individual needs. Also, it is
helpful when teachers and parents use the same approach and coordinate
their efforts.
